As an out-of-network private practice, we are able to provide specialized care that may be harder to find with in-network facilities:

• Short wait time - 19 therapists mean a short wait for you! We take special care to match you with a therapist who is experienced in what your child needs, and we can typically start services within a few weeks from your initial call

• Consistent therapy – our practice keeps on expanding, but we have very low staff turn-over, which means that your child can grow with their therapist without having to start over with someone new every few months

• Commitment to Communication – we take a proactive approach in communicating with others who are involved in your child’s care, including their teachers and school therapists.  Having all their caretakers and therapy providers committed to the same goals and strategies typically result in more progress and better carryover of skills

However, we acknowledge that insurance reimbursement is very important. So here are some FAQs

Do you take insurance?
We are considered an out-of-network provider, so if approved you will get the reimbursement rate under your out-of-network policy.  We have a billing department that can find out what your benefits are before you even start therapy.  Once you are receiving therapy, you have the option to submit the claims yourself, or our billing department can do it for you as a courtesy.

What is the usual coverage?
Many of our families get some type of coverage, but it depends on your policy. Based on the allowable amount, some get 20 sessions per year, some get 70% of each session, some get 100%, and some don’t get any at all. Some families need to meet a deductible first, and others need to get a precertification before starting. The billing department will be able to give you all of that information once they call your insurance.

Do you accept copay? What do you accept?
No, we don’t accept any copay. Everybody pays THE FULL AMOUNT FOR THEIR SESSION at the time of service. Any reimbursement that you qualify for will be sent directly to your home from your insurance company.

Do I need an evaluation?
We need an evaluation for us to start any type of service. However, we are more than happy to accept one that you already have—from school, a hospital, or another outpatient facility---so you don’t incur another cost.  For children under the age of 3, the evaluation can be up to 6-8 months old. For children older than 3, the evaluation can be up to 12 months old.  The main objective is for the report to still accurately reflect your child’s current skill level.

If you don’t have a recent evaluation, we would be more than happy to schedule one for you. Please note that insurance companies who require precertification DO NOT accept school evaluations.

How much therapy will my child need?
We give recommendations on how often your child has to come each week, depending on the evaluation. However, since we’re an outpatient facility it also depends on what you’re able to do.
