Lisa R. Cohen, M.A., CCC-SLP


Lisa R. Cohen is an ASHA Certified New Jersey State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. She received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Temple University.

Throughout the years, Lisa has provided compassionate, person-centered services to individuals of all ages across a variety of settings—including home-based early intervention, public and charter schools (Pre-K through 12th grade), and both inpatient and outpatient hospital-based rehabilitation. She has extensive experience in offering comprehensive individual and group speech, language, and cognitive therapy for teens and adults with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). She believes in working collaboratively with neuropsychologists, psychologists, neurologists, psychiatrists, vocational rehabilitation specialists, and school-based child study teams to streamline your child’s care. Her innovative group offerings addressed topics such as:

· Active Listening

· Mindfulness Practices

Lisa is experienced in working with clients who have been diagnosed with Autism, hearing impairments, Down Syndrome, and learning disorders such as:

· Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

· Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) – difficulties interpreting auditory information

· Language Processing Disorders – expressive and receptive language difficulties

· Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NVLD) – challenges with visual-spatial, motor, and social skills

· Executive Function Disorder – impairments in planning, memory, time management, and organization

Lisa has authored, collaborated on and published the Grace is Born Book Series, which was created for readers of all ages and is available in accessible formats—including American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and versions adapted for the blind and visually impaired—reflecting Lisa’s deep commitment to accessibility and inclusion.

With a strong foundation in clinical care and a deep love for soulful expression, Lisa R. Cohen brings together the worlds of therapy and creativity—where communication becomes connection, and compassion leads the way.

Lisa is married to a semi-retired Special Education teacher. They are the incredibly blessed parents of a daughter who is pursuing her PhD in Clinical Health Psychology. Together they share their VIP (Very Important Pooch), Shiloh—a lively and loving Irish Setter.
